Summer Plan: the program to reinforce the electrical service in the province of Buenos Aires

The Government of the province of Buenos Aires announced that through the Undersecretariat of Energy, the Summer Plan to reinforce the electrical service at points considered critical.

In this sense, the Executive foresees with this measure guarantee the supply of the service during the season of greatest demand. The implementation of Summer Plan will benefit the residents of 15 Buenos Aires municipalities.

In order to execute the Summer Planthe Government explained that it requested “the concessionaire of the Electric Energy Transmission service for trunk distribution in the province of Buenos Aires (Transba) a series of studies on the chargeability of the high voltage networks to analyze and forecast the map of nodes critics.”

This in order to establish in which places Temporary Generation Units must be installed to guarantee the supply of the service. Additionally, this information will be compared with the data of the provincial and municipal electricity distributors.

Among the benefited municipalities are: San Antonio de Areco and Carmen de Areco, Capitán Sarmiento, Nueve de Julio, Bragado, Pehuajó, Carlos Casares, Bragado, Gral. Viamonte, Chivilcoy, 25 de Mayo, Mercedes, Navarro, Chacabuco and Pergamino.

From the undersecretariat they indicated that the objective of the program is to “improve the quality of the electrical service in what is expected to be a season of high demand”, since with the arrival of temperatures of more than 30°, the use of fans and air conditioning is increased. conditioned.

In this regard, the Undersecretary of Energy, Gastón Ghioni, stated that “in the face of a record tourist season in the province, and weather forecasts of very high temperatures, we implement the Summer Plan which involves reinforcing critical points of the electricity grid with mobile generation units“.

During the summer, the use of electrical appliances such as fans and air conditioners increases, which sometimes causes an electrical overload, due to the high demand, which cuts off the supply.
