The government of São Paulo released on Saturday (8) the balance of Operation Summer, which aimed to reinforce ostensive policing throughout the coast of São Paulo and ended on Friday (7). According to the Military Police (PM), theft in the region had a 25% drop in comparison with the previous edition of the operation.
The state government also celebrated the 33% increase in arrests in the region. According to the balance, the Military Police detained 713 people throughout the coast of São Paulo, 33% more than the 537 arrests held in 2023-2024, of which 241 targets were sought by the court.

Citizens who have been spending their vacation on the coast and will have the Military Police as their guardians, ”said the Commander General of the Military Police, Colonel Cássio Araújo de Freitas, during the closing event of the operation in Guarujá.
The number of motorcycles and recovered cars went from 47 to 91, and drug seizures grew by 9%from 102 to 111 pounds.
The teams served 16 cities, had the reinforcement of 377 vehicles and three aircraft from the Military Police Aviation Command in the period.
Firefighters acted in the prevention of water accidents.
Operation Summer also moved military firefighters and about 321 lifeguards to serve the bathers. There were 1.5 thousand calls in risky situations for drowning. At least 36 tourists, part of them swimmers, lost their lives in the waters between December 2024 and January 2025. Last season, there were 50.
