Summer 2023: What courses help develop the creativity of children and adolescents?

The renowned English researcher, Ken Robinson, revealed that 9 out of 10 people are creative geniuses during childhood. However, he warns that most lose this ability as they grow up, due to traditional education and social paradigms. To avoid this, the director of Continuing Education at Toulouse LautrecFrida Melgar, considers it necessary to permanently train and strengthen the creativity of children and adolescents.

“The holidays are the ideal time for our children to exploit their creativity to the fullest, through fun, playful, challenging and experimental courses. This way they will also develop their innovative mentality”Melgar maintained. For this reason, for this summer 2023, Toulouse Lautrec launches the a program with 29 creative courses for children and adolescents between 7 and 16 years old.

Between the courses of that will help develop and enhance the creativity of the children, the specialist highlighted the following:

  • Video games development: They will learn the basic principles of video game design and programming, to transfer an imaginary world to a real 2D prototype.
  • Minecraft: They will carry out creative projects within the Minecraft game, considering the interior and exterior design of modular structures.
  • Robotics: They will perform 3D modeling and develop skills in electronics and software to create robotic systems from scratch.
  • Theater: They will develop the acting technique, through safe spaces for imagination, expression and self-confidence, in a playful way and in a group.
  • impro: They will learn to create characters and tell stories spontaneously, thus strengthening their body expression, security and self-esteem.
  • Musical production: They will discover digital audio technology to create musical projects according to their personal tastes.
  • Cinema for teens: They will tell stories in audiovisual format, through cinematographic techniques and tools.
  • Dubbing for teens: Through improvisation, imitation, interpretation and intonation exercises, they will be able to give voice to characters from animated films.
  • Architecture for teens: They will learn to design residential environments and digitize their projects through a 3D application.
