The civil association Súmate has denounced on several occasions that Nélida Sánchez has not been able to receive visits from her relatives, she has not had access to her trusted lawyers or to the file of her case to prove her innocence. She is currently detained at the Sebin Helicoide headquarters.
The civil association Súmate requested this Sunday a fair trial and that access to the file be allowed to the lawyers of its national training coordinator, Nélida Sánchez, who has been detained for 42 days.
«Today October 6 “As it has been one month since the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights approved protection measures for our National Training Coordinator, Nélida Sánchez, we ask the State to guarantee her right to defense and a fair trial,” wrote the association on its social networks.
They also requested his immediate release. The organization has denounced on several occasions that Sánchez has not been able to receive visits from his relatives and has not had access to his trusted lawyers.
Nélida Sánchez was arrested on August 26, 2024 by agents of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin) in Los Teques, Miranda state. Two days later she was transferred to an unknown location and on August 29 she was presented in court where she was accused of the crimes of criminal association, terrorism, conspiracy, incitement to hatred and treason.

Her relatives indicated that she suffers from illnesses that require special care, but so far there is no news about her state of health or whether she is receiving adequate medical care in El Helicoide, the Sebin headquarters where she is detained. A month ago, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) approved some precautionary measures of protection in your favor.
