The Provincial Municipality of Sullana announced the dismissal of the municipal worker MAVV due to the fact that he was involved in a traffic accident months ago while intoxicated during his working hours.
This measure was formalized through Municipal Management Resolution No. 369-2024/MPS-GM, which imposes the disciplinary sanction of dismissal for serious misconduct. This was announced by the Head of the Solid Waste Unit, Eng. Karen Ramos Gómez.

The incident took place on the night of Wednesday, February 21, 2024, on the Sullana-Paita highway near the Nueva Sullana popular urbanization, when the former municipal worker who was driving a vehicle from the Solid Waste Unit of the commune, collided with a motorcycle taxi, leaving four citizens injured. After the accident, it was confirmed that the worker was in an evident state of intoxication with a result of 1.40 g / l in the alcohol dosage carried out by the PNP Health Service, which constitutes a significant state of intoxication.
Meanwhile, the head of the Solid Waste Unit, Karen Ramos, added: “This type of conduct will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and will be sanctioned in accordance with established legal procedures, always respecting due process.”
Report No. 086-2024/MPS-URS-SULP, issued by the Public Cleaning Sub Unit, confirmed the details of the accident, indicating that the municipal vehicle involved, a red van motorcycle with license plate 4001-MP, was driven negligently under the influence of alcohol, which constitutes a serious breach of safety protocols.
At the time, the Municipality initiated the respective investigation ex officio through the Human Resources Office as the investigating body of the Technical Secretariat of Disciplinary Administrative Procedures, with the aim of clarifying the facts, determining those responsible and applying the corresponding sanctions in accordance with due process.
