The Sullana province celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor the 203rd anniversary of the Proclamation of National Independence, with a civic-military parade that took place on Champagnat Avenue yesterday, Thursday, July 25. The event, which brought together thousands of Sullaneros, highlighted the love for Peru through the participation of local institutions and entities.
The parade began with a military escort and continued with the participation of inclusive associations such as the Association for the Inclusion of People with Different Abilities, the Association of People with Disabilities, the Association of the Blind of Sullana, and the Association of Parents with Children with ASD and ADHD.

Important educational institutions and provincial organizations also joined the parade, including the UGEL Sullana, the provincial delegation of unemployed and retired teachers, and various educational institutions that won the school parade, such as the IEP San Pedro Chanel, IE Las Capullanas, IE María Auxiliadora, as well as the IEP Tte. Miguel Cortés and María Auxiliadora, and educational institutions from the districts of Bellavista, Salitral, Miguel Checa, Querecotillo, and Lancones.
At the same time, institutions from Sullana did so, such as the Subprefecture, the Court of Justice of Sullana, the Support Hospital II Sullana, ESSALUD, the Luciano Castillo Colonna Subregional Management, the Luciano Castillo Health Subregion, Municipal Officials, the Local Coordination Council and Juvecos, the Chamber of Commerce, Production and Tourism of Sullana, the Rotary Club, among others, as well as the Raíces del Chira Folkloric Ballet.
Also the Sullana Technological Higher Education Institute, Juan José Farfán Higher Institute, San Juan Private Technological Institute, Santa Úrsula Private Technological Institute, CETURGH, CEPTRO La Católica and the National University of Frontera.
One of the most exciting moments of the event was the display of the mounted combat regiment, artillery weapons, Army tanks and the engineering battalion, which provides services in situations of natural disasters. The work of the Serenazgo, Fire and Police units was also recognized.
The civic-military parade, organized by the First Cavalry Brigade and the Provincial Municipality of Sullana, under the leadership of Mayor Eng. Marlem Mogollón Meca, stood out for promoting civic values and paying tribute to the history and pride of the Pearl of Chira on its anniversary.
The event was attended by councilors of the Provincial Municipality of Sullana, district mayors, the sub-prefect Juan Sarando Olaya, as well as the head of the First Cavalry Brigade, General Doménico Luismanuel Maguiña La Torre, and the president of the Court of Sullana, Dr. Pedro Germán Lizana Bobadilla; the president of the Board of Prosecutors, Dr. Gladys Péndola Arviza, the Head of the DIVOPUS PNP Sullana, Colonel José Luis Guerra Castillo, among others.
