They reported that the main objective of this intervention is the elimination of accumulated sediments and waste, which will improve the flow of water and prevent overflows during the rainy season.

As part of this initiative, they will build a 550-meter dam that will benefit more than 240 farmers and improve more than 300 hectares of organic bananas in the aforementioned sectors. The activity will be carried out with the machinery and professionals of the National Water Authority (ANA) and will have an execution period of 25 calendar days.
The provincial mayor of Sullana, Marlem Mogollón Meca, who led the start of these activities, stressed the importance of these works, emphasizing that these actions will contribute to ensuring that the water level, during the rainy season, does not rise and does not cause overflows that affect the areas of farmers and surrounding communities.
