The Specialized Provincial Prosecutor’s Office for Environmental Matters of Sullana, carried out an operation in conjunction with police personnel from the Department of the Environment and representatives of the National Forest and Wildlife Service SERFOR, to intervene in a property where 764 kilograms of palo santo were stored in the Sullana province.
The diligence was led by the provincial environmental prosecutor Néstor Sosa Carrillo and the deputy prosecutor Jhon Beiker Frías Albán, in the hamlet of El Cerezo, located in the district of Lancones, to intervene in a property where they had stored palo santo.

The owner of the property, upon noticing the presence of the authorities, fled the scene, as the legal origin of the forest product, such as the transport guide, could not be proven. The case is being handled by prosecutor Jhon Beiker Frías Albán, who opened an investigation into the owner of the house for the crime of illegal trafficking of forest products to the detriment of the State.
