Sudden death of a magistrate of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP); there is consternation in the judicial branch

His death has provoked a reaction from many judicial bodies in Colombia.

Heidy Patricia Baldosea Pereaa lawyer and judge of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP), died at the age of 45 due to cardiorespiratory arrest, according to El Tiempo.

The death of the jurist occurred on Wednesday, July 31 in Bogotá, but the place and time of the death of the woman, well known for her work in the judicial branch, are not known. Among her friends, acquaintances and family there is consternation over her death since she did not show any signs of suffering from any health problems.

Perea tilesborn in Bogotá but rooted in her roots in the Colombian Pacific, served as president of the Chamber for the Definition of Legal Situations and was nominated for the Afro-Colombians of the Year awards.

He studied Law at the Universidad Libre de Colombia, specializing in Criminal Investigation and Judgment in the Accusatory Criminal System at the Catholic University of Colombia and also in Human Rights at the Complutense University of Madrid.

The JEP, the Supreme Court of Justice and the Constitutional Court have all expressed their regret over the death of the official and have issued messages of condolence on their social media platforms.
