An armed group seized control of a chemical laboratory storing dangerous disease viruses in Sudan.
World Health Organization (WHO) reported that this laboratory keeps the polio and measles virus inside.
The WHO affirmed that the assault was given to a public health laboratory and that the biological risk is “enormous”.
“One of the warring sides took over the central laboratory of the public health system (…) the biological risk is enormous,” said the WHO delegate in Sudan, Nim Saeed Abid.
The official warned that the establishment also stored viruses of dangerous diseases cholera.
