An appeal court in Sucre dismissed the request of the former ABC manager in Chuquisaca, Hernán Palacios (charged in the case of alleged bribery on the Sucre-Yamparáez dual carriageway) to revoke the preventive detention ordered by a judge, to defend himself in freedom. He must continue in the San Roque prison.
It was the vocal Hugo Michel who resolved the appeal filed by the former authority who resigned at his expense to avoid the argument that he might hamper the investigation process while in office. That served for the recently appointed substitute member to review his legal situation.
Cimar Campos, attorney for the accused, lamented the determination of the vocal Michel, that, although it partially declared the guardianship in favor of Palacios, it maintains the precautionary measure of preventive detention in San Roque.
The official was apprehended a week ago and taken into custody last Fridaybeing sent to the San Roque jail for six months, while The Prosecutor’s Office investigates the irregularities.
