Today the Great Training Fairthe world’s largest construction event in the country and which will run until March 18 at the Season mapochowith a large call, both in person and online at www.granferiadecapacitacion.cl for the regions of Chile and other Latin American countries.
The opening ceremony was attended by Jeannette Jara, Minister of Labor and Social Welfare; Antonia Orellana, Minister for Women and Gender Equity; Ximena Rivillo, executive secretary of Chilevalora; Juan Armando Vicuña, president of the Chilean Chamber of Construction; María Teresa Vial, president of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce; Juan Pablo del Río, president of Sodimac; and Eduardo Mizón, general manager of Sodimac Chile, along with other personalities.
In the opportunity, Eduardo Mizon He referred to “the satisfaction of seeing how the Great Training Fair that we have organized since 2012 has trained thousands of teachers. Only last year, this meeting benefited more than 190,000 people, consolidating itself as the largest free training event for the sector in the country”.
For his part, Dayan Silva, Super Teacher of the Circle of Specialists commented: “When I started in this I needed more knowledge, perfect myself, have new tools, acquire skills as a teacher, as an SME. Sodimac with the Circle of Specialists has been very important with the permanent help and with the Great Training Fair which is also free. It continues to be the only instance of support and we must take advantage of it, especially for those of us who do not have income to train ourselves”.
Attendees have been able to participate in more than 160 training sessions, 50 of which are practical demonstrations, with the possibility of trying out the latest products. Additionally, there are more than 100 theoretical contents with experts in the field, over 70 vendor stands and various networking spaces.
Along with these trainings and workshops for the improvement of teachers, the free certifications in plumbing and electricity began in the hands of Inacap. It is a daily class, both face-to-face and online. These courses are based on updated content that considers the main innovations in each area of construction.
In the Plenary Hall, talks and conversation panels are being held on relevant topics and not necessarily related to construction, such as mental health, inclusion, sustainability and digital tools, with personalities such as claudio palm, prominent football announcer and rapporteur about leadership, improvement, discipline and objectives, motivating about how important it is to maintain interest in learning and training. Similarly, the renowned psychologist Monica Lopez will give two talks on mental health; Joaquin CuevasCEO of Reviste, about the new application that, in an interactive and playful way, seeks to train in waste and recycling management, guiding the construction industry towards a culture of circular economy.
In this space will be presented Alejandra Mustakisbusinesswoman and former president of the Association of Entrepreneurs of Chile (Asech) and melyna montesrenowned leader of Bajos De Mena, about the history of 1KO, a social innovation organization that seeks to rescue and make visible the talent of that community.

Along with its realization at the Mapocho Station, the Great Training Fair is being broadcast on www.granferiadecapacitacion.cl. This, considering the success of the three online editions, where specialists from all over the national territory and also from abroad -especially in countries like Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina- showed a growing interest in updating their knowledge. In addition, the television program ‘Señal En Vivo’, hosted by the journalist alvaro garciawith various contents, interviews and testimonials from specialists in the field.
What is the Great Training Fair?
The Great Training Fairorganized by Sodimac Since 2012, it seeks that specialists from both the country and Latin America can be trained in different areas, acquiring knowledge that develops all their skills and abilities. It is part of Sodimac’s commitment to provide more and better opportunities to teachers, carrying out courses, scholarships, factory visits, e-learning and various training sessions together with prestigious institutions, through the Sodimac Circle of Specialists.
