The Trade Union Association of Workers subway and Premetro (AGTSYP), led by Roberto Pianelli, announced through a press release that a day of protest will be held this Wednesday at the Retiro station.
It will consist of enabling the turnstiles of the station so that users can travel for free on the Transport system between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., according to the workers of the subway.
The protest reaches line E of the subway and it occurs, according to the union, because “The company Emova does not replenish the necessary personnel to fill the vacant positions since the pandemic”.
Likewise, the union indicates that the organization “refuses to discuss with the workers the list of labor conditions presented in March” of this year, for which they also call on the company to listen to their demands.
“We call the concessionaire company to reflect so that it is ready to resolve these issues that would have a positive impact on the quality of the service,” says the workers’ statement.
It should be remembered that line E is the longest in the city. It starts at the Retiro station and ends at the Plaza de los Virreyes – Eva Perón station, where it joins the Premetro line.
This is not the first time that the union has insisted on better working conditions from the transport company, since its claims even date back to 2021, however some of its requests remain unheeded.
The transportation service will not be affected
Despite the fact that the workers of the sector announced a measure of force, this will not affect the transport servicethat is the operation of both line E and the rest of the lines will not be altered this Wednesday.
However, hundreds of passengers will be able to travel for free while the protest is taking place, according to the union organization’s press secretary, Enrique Rositto.
