The Collegiate Court of Puerto Plata set for December 12 the start of the substantive trial against baseball player Wander Franco Aybar for psychological and sexual abuse to the detriment of a teenager and against the victim’s mother for sexual exploitation and money laundering. .
In the process of this case, prosecutors Claudio Cordero, from the Specialized Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Prosecutor’s Office, and José Martínez Montán, from the Puerto Plata Prosecutor’s Office, highlighted the solidity of the accusation presented by the Public Ministry, with which they managed to send the defendants to trial on September 26.
They reiterated that this is a firm accusation and that the evidence supporting it closely links the accused with the typology described in the file.

The accused face charges of abuse against children and adolescents, in violation of article 396, literal B and C, of the Code for the Protection and Fundamental Rights of Children and Adolescents (Law 136-03), as well as for violation of laws 137-03 on Illicit Migrant Smuggling and Human Trafficking and 155-17 against Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism, and by association of criminals, in violation of articles 265, 266 and 267 of the Penal Code Dominican.
