He Identification System of Potential Beneficiaries of Social Programs (Sisbén) is a socioeconomic classification tool that helps Government of Colombia to develop efficient public policies to reduce inequality. If you are not yet registered, these are the steps you must follow to be considered.
He National Planning Department (DNP) of Colombia This year, it published the fourth version of Sisbén, which updated its database and modernized its methodology in order to optimize social assistance and strengthen access to different social programs.
To access the different subsidies granted by the Government of Colombia, the first step is be registered in the Sisbén IV database.
If not, you must request a survey at the local office of the municipality in which you live or complete the process virtually through the Sisbén Citizen Portal, at the following address: https://portalciudadano.sisben.gov.co/.

What is the next step to register in Sisbén?
After registering on the page, you are presented a formal request as a condition for having the survey carried out in your homewhich takes into account multiple factors that affect living conditions (such as housing, access to public services, employment conditions, health and education of the members of each family).
According classifying households into groups (A, B, C and D) and subgroups, their access to different social programs and subsidies is determined.

How to check your classification in Sisbén?
Once the survey has been completed, you can check your classification on the official Sisbén website using the following steps:
1. Enter the website: www.sisben.gov.co.
2. Select the type of document and date of birth.
3. Enter your identification number.
4. Click ‘Query’.
5. You will be able to know your corresponding classification.
