The 1st Trial Court of Barinas decreed a sentence consisting of 24 years and 2 months in prison for Luis Apure (54), who admitted in court his responsibility in the femicide of his ex-partner, María Teresa Angulo Dioses (41), the Public Ministry reported.
This event occurred on August 7 of this year in the Las Flores urbanization of the Barinitas parish, belonging to the Bolívar municipality of the Barinas state.
During the night of the aforementioned date, Angulo Dioses went to a friend’s house to hide from her ex-partner, who had hit her in the morning, the Prosecutor’s Office statement says.
Hours later, Apure arrived at the residence looking for his ex-partner, and when the victim refused to leave with him, the 50-year-old man violently entered the house and caused serious injuries with a knife until he died on the spot.
Given these circumstances, the friend of the deceased reported the incident to officials of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc), who carried out the arrest of the perpetrator that same day, in order to leave him at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the respective accusation.
At the trial, the 17th Barinas Prosecutor’s Office ratified the accusation against Apure for the commission of aggravated femicide.
Once the representation evacuated the evidence concerning the case, and the accused took the floor to admit the facts, the 1st Trial Court of Barinas issued the aforementioned sentence against the 50-year-old, and ordered his confinement at the headquarters of the Cicpc of Barinas, says the Prosecutor’s Office bulletin.
