Cojedes state Police officials arrested a 45-year-old citizen after being identified as the alleged perpetrator of physical and psychological attacks against his two minor daughters.
The procedure was carried out after neighbors of the community alerted the authorities about the presence of the two girls, who were wandering around the “El Renacer” community in San Carlos late at night.
When approached by the officers, the minors presented an obvious state of disorientation and visible signs of distress, presumably derived from an episode of violence that occurred in the family nucleus.
The detainee and father of the victims, identified as Jesús Olivero, has been placed under the command of the sixth prosecutor’s office of the state Public Ministry, in accordance with the provisions of current child protection laws.
In this regard, the general director of Poli-Cojedes, Agusmil Fernando Mendoza, calls on the community to report to the peace quadrants any situation that puts the integrity of children and adolescents at risk.
“The protection of our minors is an absolute priority; we will not allow acts of domestic violence to go unpunished,” declared the spokesperson for the police force.
