Crying and pain but also indignation and helplessness. Yesterday, the family of Jackelin Rosaura Meza (19) buried the remains of the university student in the Huancán cemetery in Huancayo. On New Year’s Eve, the second of five siblings was found dead in a hotel in Huayllay in Pasco and the last time she was seen alive, she was accompanied by a subject whose name resonates when talking about femicides: Wilmer Rojas Solano.
Marco Meza, Jackelin Rosaura’s uncle, told Correo that the young woman had decided to look for a job to save during the holidays and be able to continue paying for her university studies and also help her family.
The last week of December, Jackeline Rosaura went to the El Tambo playground, there she got a job as a waitress, in Huayllay – Pasco.
“She traveled to Huayllay on December 27, after she got a job in a restaurant. Almost at the same time Wilmer Solano also arrived to work as a cook. They told us that there was a celebration and when it was over he would have taken her to a hotel. He left first and when they entered the room the next day they found my niece dead. She had bruises on her neck and they would have strangled her,” Meza said.
It was the owner of the restaurant where the deceased worked, who noticed the young woman’s absence and began looking for her. He arrived at the Huayllay police station. There he learned that the agents had attended the removal of a body in a hotel. When he went to identify the body, he confirmed what was so feared.
“The owner of the restaurant tells us that she scolded the cook for the whereabouts of my niece and when she discovered that she was dead, she asked him again what he had done to her and the subject fled, he is missing,” says the victim’s uncle.

However, the terrifying thing was discovering that the alleged cause of the young woman’s death would be the same subject already accused of a feminicide and an attempted feminicide in Huancayo.
“Upon knowing the name of the subject, we searched the networks and realized that it is Wilmer Rojas Solano, the same one who murdered his partner (Edith Rupay Malpartida) in San Jerónimo de Tunán in 2016 and who in 2024 tried to murder another young woman (Anabela SP),” says Marco Meza who asks for justice for his niece.
