The young women reported that the alleged aggressor, identified as Jaime Cerrón, harasses them systematically, even contacting them through the institutional mail and following them in the halls of the campus.

“Last Friday, when I left a sports workshop, the guy approached me to ask me for my number. He insistently followed me and wanted to corner until a friend frightened him”said one of the affected students.

Another young woman denounced that, while walking with her companions, the same individual began to follow them, forcing them to hide behind a tree. “What else does the university expect to take actions?”he questioned with indignation.

In addition to verbal and face -to -face harass, it has also been reported that the student recorded without consent to a partner, and tried to kiss another. One of the victims showed catches of messages sent by Cerrón, where he reads: “We can talk, give me a chance then” and “Thank you for the pleasure you gave me that day, love.”

The affected students went to different instances within the university to present their complaint, but as they denounced, they did not get an answer. Some officials justified their inaction pointing out that the aggressor is a person with disabilities and this limits the actions they can take.

Faced with the lack of institutional measures, the Faculty of Social Work of the UNCP issued a pronouncement in which it rejects any form of harassment, harassment and violence. “Institutional silence only protects the aggressor and leaves the victims in the shadow,” Read in the statement.

This case has generated outrage among the university community and social networks, where they demand that urgent measures be taken to protect students and guarantee a safe environment within the campus.
