This Thursday, the deputy belonging to the Commission for Education, Health, Science, Technology and Innovation of the National Assembly (AN) Jesús Santander, expressed that the Law of Student Participation in the Basic Education Subsystem promotes the participation and inclusion of those young people who, due to their social, religious or gender identity, have been discriminated against.
«The law was approved by the National Assembly and has 22 articles, 3 chapters, final provisions and purpose; a chapter that contemplates student participation and another that refers to student councils. This promotes the integration of students, in the different edges that are part of the educational community, “said the contestant during his participation in the Café en la Mañana program broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión.
Santander also delimited “in Venezuela, students have the possibility with this new participation law to group together, without having any type of interference from an external organization, such as the committee of parents and representatives, or teachers. Students have free association, guaranteeing the rights established in the Bolivarian Constitution of Venezuela”.
In addition, the deputy affirmed that thanks to the approval of the Law of Student Participation in the Basic Education Subsystem, the bases are established to avoid discrimination and bullying, which from now on the health education, science, technology and innovation commission of The AN, together with the student organizations, are working on the construction of a law for peaceful coexistence in schools.
