On August 18, 2024, Melanny V., along with other 640,000 students from all over Colombia, took the Saber11 exam of the Colombian Institute for the Evaluation of Education (Icfes), an essential requirement to access higher education in Colombia .

The teenager from the María Inmaculada District Educational Institution of Barranquilla obtained a score of 421 on the exama result that was delivered on November 1 of this year, days after the student died.
«It is with great sadness that we received the news of the death of Melanny Villa Batidas, a young woman full of dreams and hope who was in the eleventh grade. (…) Her departure leaves a void among her colleagues, teachers and the entire educational community,” the institution wrote about the unfortunate death of one of its students.
And he adds: «We join in prayer and send our most sincere condolences to his family at this time of immense pain. “His memory and joy will always remain in their hearts.”
The minor’s family has not indicated the causes of her death. Her twin sister, indicates the La Kalle portal, is going through a difficult time due to the loss of her loved one, even more so, who knew firsthand what Melanny’s dreams and desires were.
Melanny’s score was one of the best in the Atlantic, more precisely 12th and one of the 30 students from Barranquilla who achieved more than 400 points in the exam qualified out of 500 possible.
