The landing of Sergio Massa in the Palacio de Hacienda and the concentration in that dependency of the Ministries of Productive Development and Agriculture were decisions supported by referents of the ruling party and the CGT, who expressed their expectations for the new executive role of the outgoing president of the Chamber of Deputies and praised his “management capacity”.
“He will have a greater margin of action and we are convinced that he will do a great job,” said the chief of staff in Tucumán, John Manzurwhen referring to the place that Massa will occupy in the reformed economic areas of the national government.
Asked about President Alberto Fernández’s decision to drive a redesign of his Cabinet, Manzur replied: “You always have to do self-criticism and see what is best to offer Argentina in a changing context.”
Similarly, the president of the block of national deputies of the Front of All (FdT), German Martinezevaluated that the changes generate a “positive expectation”, based on the conviction that in order to “solve the daily problems of Argentines” it is necessary to “assume new challenges” and “the President’s call to Massa is fundamental in that sense” .
Also, the controller of the Federal Intelligence Agency (AFI), Agustin Rossijudged that Massa’s appointment “represents the entire FdT in political terms.”
“We have to resolve this situation and the best way is with strong strength and political presence and that is expressed with Massa in the Cabinet,” he stressed, but asked for caution “at a time of such exchange sensitivity” until the new minister “appoints his team and announce the measures that will be taken.
From the provinces came voices of support from the governors Jorge Captainich (Chaco), Raul Jalil (Catamarca), Mariano Arcioni (Chubut) and Ricardo Quintela (La Rioja) to the “management capacity” of Massa and the restructuring of the ministries.
In statements to C5N, Capitanich even recalled that in the last meeting with the President, the provincial leaders had stated their agreement with a policy that “unifies areas and resolves the problem of exchange rate instability.”
Jalil, meanwhile, defined as “very sensible” the unification of the portfolios of Economy, Productive Development and Agriculture.

“Argentina is going through a complex moment that requires leaders with management skills such as Sergio Massa to accompany the president and his team to move the country forward,” Arcioni declared through his Twitter account.
In similar terms, Quintela assured that “the governors are going to decisively support” the restructuring of the administration of economic policies and remarked: “We have to join forces.”
On Thursday night, as soon as the changes in the Cabinet were known, the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) expressed its “accompaniment” and its “full confidence” in the “productivist” profile that Massa “will give to the Argentine economy.”
This Friday, the co-secretaries general of the CGT, Hector Daer Y Carlos Acunaagreed that it is a “great contribution” to the ministerial redesign.
Daer understood that, thus, “the Government concentrates decision-making” and “incorporates a leader with a very important political volume.”
Acuña also assured that Massa “has the institutional support of the CGT” and valued the management capacity of the future minister, based on his experiences in the “Chamber of Deputies, in the Anses and as mayor of Tigre, where he practically transformed that municipality “.
The head of the CTA and National Deputy, Hugo Yasky, also expressed his support for Massa’s appointment and stressed that “the economy must be stabilized.”
“He is one of the three heads of the Frente de Todos,” Yasky stressed in statements made at the Union of Municipal Workers and Employees (Soyem) in San Carlos de Bariloche and argued that “of course, we have a different view in many aspects, But a front is constituted on the basis of expressing in unity those who are different, if we are only those of us who think in one way, it is not a front and there is no unity; today what we need is unity, there is a brutal offensive”.
Other expressions of support that Massa added were those of the national deputy and former Minister of Social Development, Daniel Arroyo; of the former chancellor Felipe Solá; of the national senator paul yedlin; of the director of the School of Government and Public Policies of the Renovating Front and national deputy, Monica Litza; and the vice president of the National Communications Entity (Enacom), Gustavo Lopez.
“President Alberto Fernández’s decision is very positive. We took three or four steps forward. Sergio (Massa) is the right person because he has a team. It is not common for someone in Argentina to have teams. Besides that, he has a plan” Arroyo told the National and Provincial radio stations.
On the other hand, with respect to the unification of the Ministries of Economy, Productive Development and Agriculture, Arroyo analyzed that “in times of crisis it is necessary to concentrate areas.”
“The arrival of Massa and his team brings peace of mind, they are people with a lot of experience in management and we are going to find ourselves with a sustainable economic plan over time, with solid teams and political strength,” Yedlin told Télam Radio.
With a similar look, López considered that the arrival of Massa to the Cabinet will give “political volume to the management.”
Also, the Peronist leader Fernando ‘Pato’ Galmarini He said he was “certain” that Massa will end his administration with a “very good note” from society and recalled that the outgoing president of the Chamber of Deputies always “did well in all the positions he held.”
In statements to Radio 10, the father of the president of AYSA, Malena Galmarini, defined his son-in-law as “a very talented militant” who is also “a good guy, a good father, a big fan of Tigre and a good husband.”
“I have known Sergio since he was very young. Many years ago. He has always done well in all the positions he held in all these years. He is a huge militant just like Malena. And that, to hold public or political positions, is decisive “, he remarked.
