May is heading to break the trend towards decline in vehicle sales of the last three years in the fifth month, because in the first fortnight 8,560 units were registered, which represents a growth of 64.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The figures were supplied by the Andi-Fenalco alliance cBased on the license plate information provided by the Single National Transit Registry (Runt). In fact compared to 2019 it also grows 7.2 percent.

Needless to say compared to 2020, when only 8,920 units were placed throughout the month. That was the worst year of the covid-19 pandemic and in April of that same year it was the worst month in the history of vehicle sales in Colombia as only 217 units were placed.
Regarding the results compared to the previous year (2021), the automotive market registered two black months, the worst was January with 14,327 units, and the second worst was May with 14,684 enrollments.

In the market you can feel the commitment of all the brands that compete in the country, for supplying machines to its customers, and the effort of the local assemblers to guarantee an important offer is noted.
An example of this is Renault, whose president, Ariel Montenegro, specified that the brand will produce more than 45,000 units in the country this year, despite strong global restrictions on the supply of auto parts, semiconductors and the disruption in maritime transport. That particular company is making in some cases air freight to ensure that when you get the parts, can place them in its plant in Envigado as soon as possible.
