“A year ago the businessmen of Gamarra We march demanding that the government implement effective measures to combat mafias and organized crime. Although many statements and announcements have been made, real comprehensive public policies have not yet been taken and insecurity has become the main problem for Peruvians,” they stated.
In that sense, they pointed out that this situation has made the development and reactivation of any economic activity impossible. In addition, they stated that entrepreneurs have been put in a dangerous situation in the face of crime.
For this reason, they urged President Dina Boluarte to “assume leadership” and the task that corresponds to her to impose legality and eradicate the crime that hit the country.
“It is your duty to guarantee the security of all Peruvians and for this we request the presentation of a realistic action plan against crime and organized crime that plagues the country,” he commented.
They also called on Congress to legislate without political calculation and to put the interest of Peruvians first. Like ComexPerú, Gamarra’s businessmen asked that hitmen, extortion, criminal organization and illegal possession of weapons be classified as terrorism, with severe penalties.
