The Ministry of Culture (MinC) clarified, through a note, this Sunday (18) that the free streaming Tela Brasil is still in the final testing phase and has not been launched.
According to the ministry, “the information that the service would already be available is not correct”, and the platform and its applications (Android and IOS versions) are scheduled for launch in the first quarter of 2026.
In the MinC’s assessment, Tela Brasil will be an important delivery of the federal government’s cultural policy for the audiovisual sector, as it will bring together hundreds of Brazilian titles, expanding, “in an unprecedented way”, the population’s access to national productions.
“The audiovisual dissemination initiative represents a strategic advance for the appreciation of Brazilian culture, the strengthening of the sector and the democratization of access to works produced in the country”, stated the MinC.
The note brings the assessment that the positive and celebrated repercussions on the launch of the streaming public “demonstrate the pride and desire of Brazilian society to access its culture”.
The ministry concludes by stating that official information about the launch will soon be released on its institutional channels.
