He Regional Government of Piura approved the extension of deadline No. 05 for 14 calendar days in its component to improve storm drainage that is being carried out in the historic center of the city. In that case, the work would be ending on May 23, 2026.
Through Regional Management Resolution 220-2025, the Regional Government (GORE) of Piura approved the second extension of the deadline requested by the Corporación Diamantes Jubers SAC consortium, where it was determined to grant 14 additional calendar days to the contractor company in charge of the work in the center of Piura.
Although the company in charge of the project had initially requested a 24-day extension, the GORE only approved an extension for 14 calendar days, which, in any case, would directly affect the population and the project that seeks to mitigate the negative effects of the rains.

The expansion is due to the work being carried out in the quadrant of Loreto, Málaga, Bolognesi avenues and the banks of the Piura River.
With this new adjustment, the official date for the completion of the work in the center of Piura has been moved to May 23, 2026, if no other extensions are presented.
According to the Resolution, the Corporación Diamante Jubers SAC consortium supported its request before the regional headquarters arguing the impossibility of executing critical earthworks for reasons beyond its direct responsibility.
“The partial deadline extension file No. 03 is declared appropriate, due to the cause of delays and/or stoppages due to circumstances that are not the responsibility of the contractor for 14 calendar days, as this is the real time in which the execution of the items of the critical path of the current work execution program has been affected,” the resolution says.
