The Federal Supreme Court (STF) scheduled the final judgment of Minister Flávio Dino’s decision that suspended payment for illegal penduricalhos in Três Poderes for February 25th.
Earlier, Dino granted an injunction to determine that compensation funds without a legal basis must be suspended within 60 days. Voting on the other ministers of the Court will take place during an in-person session.
The so-called penduricalhos are benefits granted to public servants that do not meet the constitutional salary ceiling of R$46,300, an amount equivalent to the salary of STF ministers.
In the decision, Flávio Dino stated that there is a “phenomenon of anomalous multiplication” of compensation funds that are incompatible with the Constitution. The minister cited the payment of “peru aid” and “panettone aid” (extra year-end benefits) as examples of illegality.
The suspension must be carried out throughout the country and is valid for the federal, state and municipal Judiciary, Executive and Legislative branches.
