Frenchman Stéphane Peterhansel has abandoned the 2023 Dakar Rally After an accident behind the wheel of his Audi Hybrid in which his co-driver Edouard Boulanger was injured, this Friday in the sixth stage, he announced the organization of the famous race that takes place in Saudi Arabia.

The Spanish Carlos Sainz, also behind the wheel of an Audi, also suffered an accident on the same site, the organization specified.

“The crew members escaped unscathed. and they wait for the vehicle to be repaired to try to resume the race,” the organization added.
