Brazilian Luisa Stefani climbed three positions in the world ranking on Monday (3), after earning the title of pairs in the WTA 500 of Linz (Austria) on Sunday (2), the first of the season, in an unprecedented partnership with Hungarian Timea Babies. WTA Circuit (Women’s Tennis Association), raised Stefani from 30th to 27th place – the tennis player already occupied the top 10 at the end of 2021.
Key headings 4, Stefani and Babos raised the cup after defeating the Ukrainian sisters Nadiia and Lyudmila Kichenok by 2 sets to 1 (3/6 partials 7/5 10/4).

Before reaching the final, Stefani and Babos had already stood out in the semifinals of the Linz WTA on Saturday (1), when they surpassed the Czech duo Katerina Siniakova – number 1 in the world and newly open champion of Australia – with Chinese Shuai Zhang, by 2 sets to 1 (6/3, 4/6 and 10-7).
Stefani’s last title was won alongside Dutch Demi Schuurs at the WTA 1000 Doha (Qatar)in February 2024. In November last year, the athlete anticipated the end of the season, to undergo a surgical procedure of a cyst in the right knee.
The Brazilian’s next commitment will be the Duplas Tournament of the WTA 500 of Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), starting next Wednesday (5). Stefani will play in partnership with British Heather Watson.
