The Doblamo steel companys, which has been in Medellín for more than 38 years and has more than five lines, participated for the first time in Expocamacol. Nicolás Sierra, manager and partner of the company, in a dialogue with Portafolio, said that despite the difficulties of the global economy they have been able to exceed their goals.
“These last two years have been good for Doblamos, for all the lines, we have grown close to 10% and we have the expectation that it will be a good year”, said the manager.
With this good dynamic, the steel mill plans to expand its lines of business.
“In facades and formwork we reach a national and international level. With the other lines it is more difficult due to costs and competition. However, we hope to reach a lot in Central America with the line of facades”, he pointed out.
On the current cost controversy over steel, the company assured that prices will stabilize slowly, as seen in recent months.
“Steel rose due to shortages, but it has been going down, not all steel rose, we hope it will stabilize,” he said.
