State Peruvians ask authorities: "Act to confront growing insecurity"

The civil collective Peruanos de Estado spoke out about the political changes registered in recent days – the vacancy of Dina Boluarte and the assumption of the first magistracy, by constitutional succession, of José Jerí—.

Through a statement, he asked the head of state; to the president of the Congress of the Republic, Fernando Rospigliosi, and the president of the Judiciary, Janet Tello, “to exercise their leadership” in the face of the “difficult political circumstances of recent days and in the face of the formation of a new government.”

Along these lines, they asked the aforementioned authorities to “act to consolidate internal order and firmly confront the growing citizen insecurity and guarantee the conduct of a democratic, neutral, transparent and exemplary 2026 electoral process.”

In addition, they called on them to work together in economic reactivation and the generation of decent employment, and urged political and social leaders and actors “to contribute to the construction of a climate of peace and hope.”

“Peru is a land blessed by nature and the cradle of entrepreneurs that has everything to be prosperous. From Peruanos de Estado we reiterate our commitment to continue promoting national unity, respect for the law and the defense of democracy as indispensable pillars for the development and social peace that we all long for. (…) We reaffirm our founding mission of contributing to the formulation of public policies aimed at guaranteeing that the electoral process of 2026 develops in a climate of peace, economic, political and social stability,” the document adds.

In addition, the group reported that it has been collaborating with the National Election Jury in promoting informed voting by citizens and respecting the electoral schedule.

The document is signed by Carlos Añaños, Rosario Bazán de Aranguri, Roque Benavides, Raúl Diez Canseco, Ricardo Márquez, Fernando Zavala and Hugo de Zela Martínez.
