State of São Paulo will have second round in 18 cities

The state of São Paulo will have a second round of mayoral elections in 18 cities. There are more than 15.6 million voters going to the polls to choose the municipal administrator. With 9,322,444 people eligible to vote, the capital of São Paulo concentrates around 60% of this electorate, which will be divided into 2,061 voting locations and 26,553 sections.

Guarulhos, São Bernardo do Campo, Diadema, Mauá, Barueri and Taboão da Serra, all in the Metropolitan Region, have 2,763,592 voters, 17.7% of the total. In Guarulhos there are 951,798 voters, 260 polling places and 2,836 polling stations; in São Bernardo do Campo 643,023 voters for 166 polling places and 1,997 sections; Diadema, which has 340,373, has 88 voting locations and 935 polling stations; In Mauá, the 82 voting locations are divided into 925 sections in 82 polling locations. Structure

The second round will have 3,860 voting locations, with 2,836 polling stations in the capital alone (73% of the total). There will be 45,042 polling stations operating across the state, of which 12,538 are adapted to accessibility rules (around 28% of the total). There will be 50,000 electronic voting machines, of which approximately 30,000 machines will be in the capital. In total, 223 thousand poll workers will work in the second round. In addition to the members of the vote receiving table, 22,500 logistical support staff will be at the polling places to support the sections and guide the electorate.

“Those who did not vote in the first round can vote normally in the second round. Voters who failed to justify their absence from voting on October 6th will be able to do so until December 5th, in relation to the first round, through the e-Título application or through Electoral Self-Service or Sistema Justifica. People who were at their electoral address and for some fair reason stopped voting must also respect this deadline”, advises TRE-SP.
