State of Rio returns to the yellow flag of risk for covid-19

The state of Rio de Janeiro returned to the yellow flag, with low risk for covid-19. According to the Covid-19 Risk Map, released this Friday (11) by the State Health Department (SES), the Metropolitan I regions show improvement, which went from the orange flag (moderate risk) to the yellow flag (low risk). ) and Serrana, which was in red flag (high risk) and now appears in orange flag (moderate risk).State of Rio returns to the yellow flag of risk for covid-19

The Metropolitana II, Baixada Litorânea and Baía da Ilha Grande regions remained with the yellow flag (low risk). The Middle Paraíba, Central South and North regions remain in orange flag (moderate risk). Only the northwest region remains in red flag (high risk).

In the analyzed period, hospitalizations for the disease fell by 71.34%, from 1,267 in Epidemiological Week 3 to 363 in Week 5. Deaths fell by 30.21%, from 321 in Week 3 to 224 in Week 5.

Indicators show that, in the period from February 1st to February 8th, the positivity rate for SARS-CoV-2 in RT-PCR tests performed in health facilities across the state was 50%. This Thursday (10), the occupancy rate of beds for covid-19 was 55% in intensive care units (ICU) and 41% in the ward.

“This edition of the risk map further consolidates the drop in covid-19 indicators, showing that Ômicron has already reached its peak and is now in a sustainable decline in most regions of the state. In the North and Northwest regions, we are still on alert”, highlighted the State Secretary of Health, Alexandre Chieppe.
