The public production company Envases de Vidrio de Bolivia (Envibol) and the Tarijeña company Bodegas y Viñedos de La Concepción signed a six-year commercial agreement for the provision of 2.4 million glass containers worth 6.4 million Bolivians.

“Consolidating the sale of more than 2.4 million glass containers is a great advance for our state-owned public company and, of course, for the company Bodegas y Viñedos de La Concepción, which will mean an income of more than 6.4 million Bolivians for the company Envibol”, highlighted the Minister of Productive Development, Néstor Huanca. The authority said that it is planned to expand Envibol’s production capacity in response to the demand of several national and international companies, taking into account that the plant has a production capacity of 29,100 metric tons of glass containers per year. “Given the existing demand, the plant will cover 100% capacity. (…) President Luis Arce has instructed Sedem, in this case, to start studies so that Envibol’s capacity in Chuquisaca can be expanded. We are protecting the national industry”, he specified.

The general manager of La Concepción, Carlos Paz, highlighted that Envibol will produce six varieties of glass bottles, some specialized and exclusive for singani and generic containers for its line of wines, among others, which will be “100% national.” “With Envibol we are closing a purchase agreement for specialized bottles, a bottle that will be unique for our singani Rugero, this is the special mold that Envibol will produce for us”, emphasized the executive.
