The Panamanian Chamber of Construction (Capac), announced this Thursday that the National Government promised to pay the debts they have with contractor companies before the month of June.

Carlos Allen, president of Capac, said that this is excellent news for the construction sector, because in this way, a series of disbursements are made to suppliers, banks, and all those who provide related services to the industry that, Right now they are very hard hit due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Currently, the accounts payable that the Government maintains with contractors exceeds $150 million and correspond to the year 2021.

According to Capac, if this is achieved, it would represent a significant impact for the reactivation of the economy.
