The days of the so-called dissident deputies of the Cambio Democrático (CD) party, within this political grouping, seem to be numbered, after the decision of the party’s Court of Honor and Discipline to expel them and revoke their mandate.

After the edict with which the Court of Honor and Discipline made the decision to expel them and revoke the mandate of 15 CD deputies was unsettled last Monday, it is expected that starting this Thursday, the deputies will begin to present their respective appeals before the Board of Directors of the party, chaired by Rómulo Roux, which is the entity that has the last word regarding the expulsion decision.

In relation to the revocation of the mandate, the deputies may still appeal even before the Electoral Tribunal (TE).

After the edict was unfixed last Monday, a period of 48 business hours (at least 6 days) was entered for the deputies to present their appeals. From the time the appeal is filed, three business days must elapse for their support before the Board of Directors.

Each group of lawyers that represented each of the deputies is expected to file their appeals.

Once the appeal is supported, the Board of Directors will have five business days to issue a ruling.
