Starting at noon “gusts of strong winds” are expected

The Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) issued a special statement to the population due to gusts of strong winds that will be witnessed starting at noon on Monday the 14th. An increase in the SW wind of 30-40 km/h is expected, with gusts 60-75 km/h in coastal areas of the Río de la Plata and the Atlantic Ocean.

The streaks will begin to subside in the early hours of Tuesday 15 but it is suggested to be attentive to the official forecasts issued by Inumet on its website www.inumet.gub.uy and social networks.

On the other hand, they announced a cessation of the alert: “atmospheric conditions have temporarily improved, for which the cessation of the current alert is determined. However, monitoring of the situation is maintained and new weather alerts will be issued if necessary.
