A stampede of people during a concert in the city of Sucre, it left a 17-year-old girl dead and seven more injured, the director of a hospital reported this Sunday.
“The 17-year-old girl unfortunately arrived deceased [al hospital]they did resuscitation maneuvers”, but without resultsMaría Elena Lescano, director of the San Pedro Claver Hospital in Sucre, told television channels.
According to the first data from the doctors who helped her, the woman “had many bruises on her body,” Lescano said.
The incidents occurred on Saturday night during a concert by the Argentine cumbia groups Ke Personajes and 18 Kilates in the Campo Ferial de Lajastambo, an enclosure with capacity for about 20,000 people.
The doctor said that seven people were also injured, all female, one of them with “polytrauma.”
According to Lescano, “there was a concert and there was an avalanche of people.”
According to the local press, entrance tickets to the concert venue were sold out in advancebut groups of people tried to break in, which caused the riot.
Others tried to leave and in the confusion the incidents originated.
They circulated on social media images of dozens of people fleeing the place, forcing the metal mesh.
Consulted by AFP, the Ministry of the Interior (Interior) has not yet given an official version of the events.
