This Wednesday, the South American Rally Race had the start of its Stage 6 from La Pampa, which was altered by the incessant rain that fell in that town.

The organization, which had arranged the first start of the motorcycle category at 06:55 in the morning, saw how the accumulated water in the Pampas terroirs caused its departure to be made after 10 in the morning.

At the close of the day on Wednesday, the times were not made official due to changes regarding inclement weather and pilots who did not close section 6 of SARR 2022, although among the unofficial times they marked that:

In motorcycles, Julián Kozak had the best time of the stage, with a 10-minute lead over Flavio Del Zotto, while Leonardo Cola completed the podium. In M2, Santiago Rostán set the fastest time, followed by Martín Franco and Adolfo Scaglioni.

Maximiliano Kowalsky finished the stage as the best bike, while Chubut Juan Álvarez, Sergio Larreguy and Lisandro Villanova did the same in cars.

This Thursday, Stage 7 will be held between Villa Regina and General Conesa, in what will be the next-to-last route before landing in Viedma, which will host the camp for the last two nights of competition for the “Dakar Sudamericano”.

Nicolás Strático and his UTV rowed in the water and in the general classification

The pilot from Buenos Aires, along with his navigator Augusto Sanz, spoke with Télam in what was Stage 6 of SARR 2022 and admitted that the cold and rain that they had to overcome was very hard. “Any mistake sent us under a gate,” he said.

Nicolás Strático’s UTV 251 had a great performance in the section that joined 25 de Mayo, in La Pampa, with Villa Regina in Río Negro, where together with the fleet that competes in the “Dakar Sudamericano” he analyzed how the work was with rain and cold.

“The rain played a terrible role, it is very hard to run almost 400 kilometers in the cold. Luckily we were able to solve it and with the whole day with water on top, luckily we got there”, said the pilot from the bivouac from Villa Regina.

“The roads were constantly watered and from gate to gate, that’s why we traveled wherever we could and we did it at the best possible pace, with good results,” he referred.

Stratíco and Sanz, pending confirmation of live times and unconfirmed by the SARR, were placed in 3rd position in the T3.2 category and 9th overall, after having had problems in recent days with a bearing that they solved in San Juan.

“We solved the problems in the first part of the race and now there are only noises, but they are normal, so we are moving forward now and we hope to continue like this in the next stage”, he acknowledged.

Strático was very happy with the work of his navigator, Sanz, who ended up with the route sheets stuck to his pants. “It was cold all day, the pages tore, the ink ran and we did it as best we could and we also suffered with communication and it was all a product of the water,” he remarked.

“Any mistake sent us to the gate,” he closed.
