Three Kings Day is celebrated every January 6 in several countries, in order to remember the adoration of the baby Jesus by the three characters.
The Three Wise Men arrive at children’s homes around the world during the early hours of January 6. However, the letter with the requests must be left with them the night before, on January 5.
The story goes that the three Wise Men, Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar – riding a camel, a horse and an elephant – traveled from the East to Jerusalem guided by a star, to worship a newborn prophet and bring him three offerings: gold, frankincense and myrrh.
