The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, accompanied by the First Lady of the Republic, Yazmín Colón de Cortizo, received executives from Samsung, the sponsor company of the World Robotics Olympics that will take place in Panama next year.
Cortizo Cohen thanked the directors for the trust placed in the country through their investments and took the opportunity to highlight the support as a sponsor in the next Robotics Olympics.
“I would like to reiterate my gratitude for the support to the national project of the Office of the First Lady in the World Robotics Olympics; anything Samsung can do is welcome,” said President Cortizo Cohen.
During the meeting, the benefits that Panama offers through the law of services related to manufacturing for multinational companies such as Samsung, as well as the geographical position of the country, were also highlighted.
The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Federico Alfaro, stressed that this law offers an excellent opportunity for Samsung to expand its operations in our country.
For his part, Jae-Yong Lee, leader of Samsung Electronics at a global level, was pleased with the advantages that Panama offers in terms of logistics and security, and thanked the president for his attention.
“It is a pleasure for us to be part of this great event and to support the new generations through the Robotics Olympics,” said Lee.
Lee was accompanied by HS Jo, CEO of Samsung Electronics for Latin America and the Caribbean, and Jay Kim, CEO of Samsung Electronics for Central America and the Caribbean.
The head of the Panamanian Executive was also accompanied by the Minister Counselor for the Facilitation of Private Investment, José Alejandro Rojas; and the director of Private Investment, Allan Ritter.
