The specialist doctors of the Luis Chicho Fábrega hospital, in the province of Veraguas, hope that the authorities can comply with their requests for payment of delayed shifts and that this hospital has a budget in line with the health care needs of this area of the country.
Dr. Sandra Vázquez explained that they are establishing negotiating tables and a monthly council to evaluate the proper functioning of the hospital in order to be the reference for the other hospitals in the central provinces of the Ministry of Health (MINSA) of the region.
“It was the first step for the authorities to listen to our clamor that we have been working these two years with great sacrifice to be able to get our patients forward,” he pointed out.
This weekend the medical specialists were treated by Minsa staff where it was agreed to hold a dialogue table to evaluate the approach made and also the payment of overdue shifts.
