The special committee of the Chamber of Deputies on the next National Education Plan (PNE) approved this Wednesday (10) the final opinion of the rapporteur, deputy Moses Rodrigues (União-CE).
THE Bill 2614/24from the Executive Branch, defines guidelines, goals and strategies for Brazilian educational policy over the next ten years. In his speech, the rapporteur thanked the removal of the highlights that had been placed in the article.
“It’s a great achievement. It shows that the National Congress, with a lot of dialogue, can maintain balance and moderation for the approval of super important matters such as the National Education Plan,” stated Rodrigues
The text was approved unanimously, in a symbolic vote. As it was being processed conclusively and, given the absence of an appeal for voting in the Plenary of the Chamber of Deputies, the matter now goes to the Senate for analysis.
To become law, the final version will have to be approved by the Chamber and the Senate. “Parties, deputies and deputies built a unit so that we could approve a text without prominence, without recourse to the Plenary”, highlighted the rapporteur.
“Already asking President Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB) – have a coffee with him tomorrow – so that he can call a virtual session on Friday, next week. We need five sessions so that the matter can go to the Senate”, he concluded.
Main points
The new PNE will be valid for the decade counting from the publication of the future law – initially, the period would be from 2024 to 2034. The proposal replaces the Law 13,005/14which deals with PNE 2014-2024 and had its validity extended until the end of this year.
This is the third edition of the plan, which seeks to align educational planning with standards of quality, equity and efficiency, with a focus on eradicating illiteracy and universalizing school services.
