Special cargo vehicles restricted on the Central Highway until 2025

Special cargo vehicles that exceed regular dimensions in width and weight will have restricted access on the Carretera Central until December 31, 2025. This measure will apply in both directions of the section between Chaclacayo, in Lima (km 23) and the Pucará Population Center, in Junín (km 145). This is established by Directorial Resolution No. 018-2024-MTC/18 of the Ministry of Transport, to curb the existing traffic congestion on this road due to the daily transfer of vehicles with excessive dimensions.

It should be noted that the authorization granted by Provías Nacional will be for a maximum of 65 vehicles per day, in the case of special vehicles up to 4 meters wide and vehicles transporting special merchandise weighing up to 60 tons; and for a maximum of 2 vehicles per day, when it comes to special vehicles exceeding 4 meters wide and vehicles with special merchandise weighing more than 60 tons.
