After almost five days of strike, the National Government and the representatives of a group of freight transporters, promoters of the strike, agreed to end the blockades after signing a series of commitments, including: a reduction in the increase in diesel pricesamong other measures.

One of those agreements reached during the negotiation between truckers and the Government was that of Include a special article in the labour reform for the transport sector that includes solutions for drivers to retire.

For this purpose, a technical committee will be created to collect the needs raised by drivers in order to prepare the proposal that would be included in the bill.
“The Ministry of Labour is committed to bringing to the labour reform a proposal that includes a special article for the transport sector, which reflects the needs raised by the drivers’ representatives. A technical committee will be created to advance pension solutions for the transport sector.”says point number 6 of the fourteen commitments of the agreement.

The project will also be considered for presentation to the Congress of the Republic Law on the Sanctioning Regime of the Transport Sectoramong other agreements.
