Spanish group Mocedades hopes to perform again in Cuba

MIAMI, United States. – At the end of their recent tour of Mexico, the members of the Spanish group Mocedades made a brief stop in Cuba, reported the official magazine Art by Excellences. As in the rest of the Spanish-speaking world, on the Island the taste for the group has been consolidated thanks to its more than five decades dedicated to romantic music.

During their stopover in Havana, the group recalled their performances on the island and recalled the intense applause from the Cuban public.

“This visit to Cuba has been very exciting, fantastic. That exchange with the people in our path, that contagious energy, that exquisite ‘mojito’… we have found all of this, and what a pity that time has passed so quickly. Therefore, we are sure [de] that we have to return”, expressed Izaskun Uranga, founding voice of the group.

The members of Mocedades are known for eternal themes such as It’s you, Love of man, Take me or leave me, Who will sing to you? and The seller. Throughout their career, they have managed to conquer diverse geographies and languages, providing an unmistakable vocal harmony that evokes a full spectrum of emotions.

The group, which began in 1967 in Bilbao as “Voces y Guitarras”, has had numerous hits and has undergone several line-up changes. However, it has maintained its essence and its ability to connect with its audience. Today, they continue to produce music and tour internationally, performing with renowned contemporary artists such as David Bisbal, Ana Torroja and Gloria Trevi.

Mocedades has also paid tribute to iconic figures of Cuban music such as the Matamoros trio, Celia Cruz, Benny Moré, Pablo Milanés and Silvio Rodríguez. Speaking to Art by Excellencesits members expressed their desire to reunite with their Cuban followers as soon as possible, and announced the recording of a song with an undisclosed Cuban artist.

youth, who recently received the distinction “Star of the Century” by the Instituto Latino de la Música, has demonstrated a constancy and a love for music that have withstood the test of time. The group is currently made up of Ana Bejerano, Javier Garay, Iciar Ibarrondo, Luis Hornedo and Aitor Melgosa.
