According to official information, a passport may be obtained by those who have Spanish nationality and are registered in the Consular Registration Registry. For the application, you must personally attend the Consular Office, pay the fee and present the established documents.
Documents required for passport application
- Previous passport.
- Valid ID, if possessed.
- If you do not have any of the two previous documents or if they have expired for three years or more, a literal birth certificate issued for the sole purpose of obtaining a passport. This document must be issued by the competent Spanish Civil Registry in the six months prior to the passport application.
- A recent color photograph (32 x 26 mm.) on a white background, taken from the front, without dark glasses or clothing that prevents identification of the person.
