Spanish chain Roc Hotels will manage a five-star hotel in Cayo Santa María

MADRID, Spain.- The Spanish chain Roc Hotels and the state-owned company Gaviota, subordinated to the GAESA military business complex, signed a hotel management and marketing contract on Tuesday for the Hotel Lagunas del Este II, formerly known as Ocean Casa del Mar, located in the tourist pole of Cayo Santa María, north of Villa Clara.

The five-star facility, which will be marketed under the name of Hotel Roc Casa del Mar, will open on January 27.

As indicated Latin Press“Being a five-star hotel, the Excelsior Club service, exclusive to Roc Hotels, will be implemented, which offers attractive added values, exclusive and differentiated from the usual service, which is the equivalent of the Roc Plus service that is so successful in establishments of four stars of the firm”.

Roc Hotels, points out the official media, is a family hotel chain founded in 1998 in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. It has been present in Cuba since 2013, the year in which it began to manage the Roc Presidente hotel in the capital, and the Roc Barlovento and the Roc Arenas Doradas, in the tourist center of Varadero.

In the midst of the housing crises (including landslides and evictions), food and medicine that Cubans suffer, the regime continues to invest in the tourism sector, despite the fact that its annual predictions of foreign visitors are far from being fulfilled.

In his eagerness to boost the sector, he leaves the management of the hotel facilities in the hands of foreign companies. This was the case with Cayo Largo del Sur which, since last June, all its hotel and non-hotel facilities are managed by the Canadian chain Blue Diamond Resorts.
