Spanish airline Iberojet will connect Madrid with Santiago de Cuba from November

The Spanish airline Iberojet, of Ávoris Corporación Empresarial, announced this Wednesday that as of November 11 of this year it will begin to operate a new route that will connect Madrid with the city of Santiago de Cuba, in eastern Cuba.

The company, previously known as Evelop, plans to carry out a flight direct and non-stop on board an Airbus A330, and as a promotional price it will be 283 euros per section in all official channels for sale from this Wednesday, according to an office of Latin Press (PL).

Paul Verhagen, deputy director general of Iberojet, commented that “with the opening of this new route to the emblematic city of Santiago de CubaIberojet once again demonstrates its firm commitment to Cuba, a country to which we have flown since the beginning of our operations in 2013”.

“Not only do we show that we continue to bet on this incredible country, but also that our company continues to work on diversifying the holiday destinations in the Spanish market, an ambitious development plan that takes shape with the inauguration of this new route,” added Verhagen, quoted by the agency.

The Spanish company indicated in its statement that the direct flight to Santiago de Cuba from Madrid will be operational throughout the year and represents “a great opportunity” to get to know Santiago de Cuba, the second city on the island and one of the most important in the world. Caribbean.

In its note, the company recalls that in December 2021, Iberojet opened its first office at the Miramar Trade Center in Havana, “proof of the company’s commitment to continue strengthening its presence and service offerings in Cuba.”

Iberojet also highlighted the increase in frequencies available for next summer, with five weekly flights Madrid-Havana, plus one from Lisbon to Varadero, in high season. He also explained that with Santiago in the portfolio starting in November and after the end of the summer season, the airline will continue to offer three weekly flights, two of them between the capitals of Spain and Cuba.

For her part, Niurka Pérez Denis, Tourism Counselor of the Cuban Embassy in Spain and Portugal, specified that the inauguration of this direct flight to Santiago de Cuba “is welcome news for the tourism sector of our country,” she said. PL.
