Spain willing to contribute ideas on Meta RD 2036

Spain wants to contribute to the Goal RD 2036 with their companies.” The statement corresponds to Paco Perez, president of the Official Chamber of Commerce of Spain in the Dominican Republic (Camacoes RD), who stated that this entity is willing to contribute ideas and actions to the initiative.

Pérez revealed that, with the purpose of contributing to the Dominican Government’s proposal, the chamber will be part of several of the work tables that are constituted within Goal RD 2036.

  • The main objective of Meta RD 2036 is to double the Dominican gross domestic product (GDP) by that year, an objective that the head of the Camacoes RD indicated would naturally benefit Spanish companies operating in the country, ensuring that as the economy grows so will his nation’s companies, both in number and volume.

“One of our missions is to encourage investments in new spanish companies in the Dominican Republic. There is a lot of interest in sectors such as tourism, renewable energy and infrastructure and also at a logistical level. There are many spanish companies with a lot of interest in that sector,” he revealed.

The executive of the Camacoes RD spoke within the framework of a conference breakfast about Goal RD 2036which was in charge of minister of the presidency, José Ignacio Palizaand Peter Prazmowskidirector of the National Competitiveness Council.

He highlighted that, despite the distance, his nation has been the second largest investor foreigner in the Dominican Republic, only behind the United States. He highlighted that the social stabilitypolitical and economic, added to legal security, are the main attractions that the country has, which gives peace of mind to investors.

Government efforts

Likewise, he reported that with the help of the Tony Blake Institute the delivery communitythrough which the 10 prioritized goals are monitored. Furthermore, he explained that, to provide continuity over time, a decree that underpins the goal as a State policy.
